Frequently asked questions

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Any Apprentice/Trainee who is undertaking training in any of the eligible vocations (click here to view the Elgibility Schedule) or who works within the building and construction industry is deemed eligible to apply for a CITB ID.

Any Employer who works in the SA building and construction industry for a minimum of 80% of their time. Building and construction work is defined as the construction, erection, renovation, demolition or removal of a building, structure or civil works. It does NOT include maintenance, servicing or installation work conducted on existing buildings, structures or civil works.

As an Employer of an Eligible Apprentice, you will need to register your Company to receive the employer support payments. You will need your ABN/Trade Licence, Trading Name, address and banking details. Once your Company is registered, you will need to get your Apprentice to register, quoting your Company's ABN so you are both linked. They will need a valid Contract of Training (COT) Number, together with their personal details.
